Abdelmajid Hassairi was born on July 24th, 1947. He graduated in Economic sciences, option management, in 1967, from the Faculty of Law and Economics of Tunis. He also holds an MBA in Financial management from the Tunis Institut Supérieur de Gestion (ISG), in 1973.

​Key attributes: a whole career in the banking sector of more than 30 years – Study and financing of projects, audits, internal audits, recovery and follow-up; a sectorial experience through the management of large companies in various activities – tourism, industry and services; professor for senior staff in the financial sector for more than 17 years; consultant with the IBRD, AFD, AfDB, BDEAC (Development Bank of Central Africa States) and various major Tunisian firms.

​He is experienced:

​In the banking sector: in BDET (Tunisian development Bank) in terms of development, recovery and follow-up, audit, industrial decentralization and promotion fund, and credits.

​In the management of large companies: CEO of BATAM from 2004 to 2007; Chairman of the Board of Golf Tozeur from 2002 to 2004; member of the Board of STI, in charge of development (ACCOR Group, achievement of the Ibis / Novotel in Tunis); Managing Director of PROMOTEL from 1983 to 2005 (achievement and management of hotels – Ras El Ain Unit in Tozeur, Kasbah in Kairouan); Managing Director (primary responsible) of SOTUVER from 1989 to 1990; Executive Director in various tourism and industrial companies having BDET as shareholder, from 1975 to 2001.

​In consulting services: Missions in Congo Brazzaville – design and establishment of a new information system as Expert in banking activities - BDEAC (2012/2016); missions in Chad - diagnosis, assessment and rehabilitation of the Chad Development Bank (missions commissioned by the African Development Bank); missions in Mauritania – diagnosis, assessment of management capabilities of staff, establishment of financial forecasting and preparation of the bank’s organization (Union of Development Banks); missions of diagnosis and privatization of the Institute Pasteur industrial activity in Tunisia; assistance mission for property developers specialized in luxurious residential development and office technology; in charge of the Tunisia F1 Racing project financial studies.

​In teaching: Professor in IFID (Development and Financing Institute), Tunisia, from 1983 to 2000 (financing of SMEs and analysis of bank lendings); postgraduate banking studies, under the aegis of the Maghreb countries Ministries of Finance: Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania; seminars and lectures (IFID, World Bank, Paris International Fair).
